Collier Legal Search - Biographies

Kay Kurtin Egger, Attorney and Co-Founder of Collier Legal Search has been in legal staffing/recruiting since the mid 1990's. She specializes in all levels of attorney placement, from project lawyer, associate to partners and groups. Kay additionally manages and works in the operations section of CLS. Like Kellie Collier, Kay's sister, Kay is a 3rd generation Native-Houstonian. She graduated in 1986 from Memorial Senior High School. In 1990, Kay received her B.A. in Economics & Government from St. Mary's College at Notre Dame. She then returned to Houston to attend South Texas College of Law. There, Kay advanced in the school's prestigious varsity advocacy program earning the honor of being named into the National Order of Barristers. Additionally Kay received the exclusively given Thomas Justin Treece Scholarship. Kay's law practicing career was largely at the litigation firm known in the 90's as Fisher, Gallagher & Lewis, LLP. Soon thereafter, Kay began consistent work as a legal staffing specialist in Houston, Texas. She met and exceeded goals in both production and management; consideration of client and applicant needs being THE priority in her service.

Mary Claire Carmouche Upton is a fourth generation native Houstonian.  She graduated from Duchesne Academy of the Sacred Heart in Houston Texas.  She traveled to South Bend Indiana to attend and graduate from Saint Mary’s College at Notre Dame, then received her JD from South Texas College of Law in Houston, Texas.  After admission to the bar, Mary Claire practiced as a litigator with the Williams Bailey Law firm for almost seven years.  During her tenure at Williams Bailey, Mary Claire focused on Superfund sites, tobacco and other personal injury dockets.  Leaving the practice of law, Mary Claire joined a Fortune 500 staffing company in 2000 where she excelled at placing attorneys and legal staff.  She has gained the confidence and respect of the legal community in Houston and surrounding areas.  In 2006, Mary Claire joined Collier Legal Search. She has extensive experience in working with partners, general counsels, associates and paralegals and provides a wealth of experience and skill to the Collier Legal Search team.

Nicole Sohlden is a native Houstonian.  Nicole attended the University of Houston where she earned a B.A. in History, with a concentration in human development and consumer science in 2005. After graduation, she went on to manage several top retailers in the Houston area. Nicole earned her Paralegal Certificate from the Universityof Houston in 2011 and utilized her certificate by working for a Houston law firm with a diverse practice.

Angie Truitt practiced trial law for 13 years prior to joining Collier Legal Search in the Fall of 2012.  She earned her JD from Baylor Law School in 1999 following in the footsteps of her father who was a career lawyer in the Army JAG Corps.  Angie earned a BBA in Marketing from Washburn University in Kansas prior to attending Baylor.  Fortunate to have worked with some of the best trial lawyers in the Houston area, Angie enjoyed her time in the courtroom but after more than a decade, sought a career change that would allow her to use all of her academic and practical experiences to do something different.  She found that perfect mix at Collier Legal Search.  For the company, Angie works in the attorney placement operations division as a recruiter.

Chris Collier is a fourth generation Houstonian, who graduated from Memorial High School in 2006. He then moved on to Trinity University in San Antonio, TX where he was a four year letterman in football and earned a B.S in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance in 2010. Following graduation, he worked as a recruiter for the nation’s largest privately held recruiting company where he specialized in recruiting and account management. He has ample experience in the contingent workforce industry and brings a working knowledge of general business, client management, and business development with him.
